Me, She & Her
I hadn’t noticed that dreams had come true; it’s surreal to see a book resting upon the shelf, my printed name on the spine. When readers share images of ‘Me, She and Her’ I have to pinch myself - I can’t quite believe she’s finally published and no longer belongs to me, but to you. Sometimes I flick through her pages to remind myself that something came from nothing.
This community has been such a wonderful, cosy space. A space dedicated to sharing words and photographs. I am so grateful to each and every person who chooses to follow my work.
Alas, the dubious path to publication is over and it’s time to move forward. But, before departing, I must say one final thank you. Things wouldn’t have been the same without the illustrator who travelled with me on this adventure. In our suitcases we carried inexperience, pencils and parchment and went forth on a rickety train to Who-Knows-Where. Together we worked tirelessly, hours spent on the littlest of details while distant Christmas music marked a final hurdle. Without Tirill Svaler this would have been a much lonelier path (being writer and publisher is a very solitary job, indeed). She is a marvel. I won’t forget this journey to the stars.
